Scaling coaching to radically impact stakeholder outcomes: emerging practice

Session on 26 November 2019 11:00 UTC - View on timetable

Session

At last year’s EMCC Global Provider Summit, we facilitated a roundtable focused on implementing more systemic approaches to coaching. In our recent projects, we have been experimenting with different ways of ensuring that coaching is highly business relevant in order to meet the desired stakeholder outcomes from a team or individual coaching engagement. This comes with it some new thoughts on how to ensure that coaching is highly business relevant in today’s context. We have found this level of business relevance to be important for the effectiveness of team coaching in particular.

In this roundtable discussion, we look forward to peer dialogue with you and sharing our collective and emerging experiences of scaling coaching across an entire organisation? For us as coaches and team coaches to help address the business challenges, do we need to adopt any different mindsets in understanding the business landscape in order to make happen a sustainable change? Does the current business context demand a different mindset for us as team and individual coaches to be able to engage with the business realities today? What can we learn from each other’s stories on how we are evolving our thinking in our profession?

Discussion Topics:

  1. Sharing emerging experiences of the everyday practice of coaching in business-critical situations e.g. a team trying to increase market share in a depressed sector through addressing the everyday issues in teams or a product team trying to shorten the lifecycle of designing a new prototype (Ei World colleagues will briefly touch on some experiences of team and individual coaching in a multi-cultural context with examples of business issues that recent coaching projects were designed to address).
  2. The ART and Practice of Coaching at the Top where the impact of the business issues is the most significant – what are we learning about how to implement team and individual coaching that keeps executive stakeholders involved and interested?
  3. Technology as an effective way to scale coaching to larger groups of global leaders – the implications, challenges, best practices and key learnings.
  4. What role can the EMCC Accreditations play in helping to scale coaching?
