A prime distinguisher of capability is how we interpret our own and others’ behaviour and build resilience to cope with setbacks to maintain personal power. Empirical observations reveal that a major obstacle interfering with human performance is interpersonal relationships. Few apparently escape the unease that disharmonious working can bring to the workplace. This uninvited ‘sabotager’ of productive performance has no respect for high IQ, hard earned qualifications or career dedication; we can all be susceptible to relationship breakdown.
We may seek to understand and take responsibility for bridging any fracture, possibly accept that variations in relationship quality are to be expected on the basis we can’t get on with everyone – or think the issue rests with others and not ourselves. The good news is that we can do something about it!
A study of the human condition reinforced with an evidence-based research study focused on relationship and with a specific focus on the giving and receiving feedback has enabled Lise to offer an approach of a ‘way of being’ in relationship management. The WAY Relational Framework © has been created from her evidence-based Doctoral research. The 10 themes integral to are organised into 3 parts. These parts relate to pivotal points in a conversation that when given focused attention will improve relationships:
